Sandra Jane was born in Kelowna, BritishColumbia in 1956 and has always lived in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. She has two older brothers. The family lived in a small house on Dehart Avenue right across the street from Central Elementary. In the mid 1980’s that house was torn down and another house was moved onto the lot. Today, it's the Kelowna Community Music School.

Sandra Jane went to Dehart Primary, Glen Avenue and Central Elementary. She graduated from Kelowna Secondary School in 1974.

Right out of high school she met her soon to be husband Ken. They dated for nine months, got engaged in July of 1975 and married in early February 1976. The ceremony was at Ken’s family home in Kelowna. It was Sandra Jane’s brother Jim who conducted the wedding.

The couple has two daughters. Lisa was born in July of 1978 and Lindy in November 1980. Sandra was a stay at home mom but babysat children in the neighbourhood. Their home was always filled with the noises and games of little ones.

The family grows again

In December 2005 Sandra Jane and Ken became grandparents. Grandson Kale arrived three weeks early and has grown to become a fine young man. In April 2008 they welcomed Lucas who was also three weeks early. He's a funny little guy, never knowing what he'll say next. Are they proud grandparents? You bet!

Leisure time

Ken and Sandra Jane love camping. Sometimes just the two of them. Sometimes with friends. They can often be seen out on a lake in kayaks Ken built in their garage.

The two also enjoyed motorcycling for many years, but gave it up after an incident. Here's what happened. They were coming back from the IPE Fair in Armstrong BC and got caught in a terrible storm. On an overpass, they were slammed by a cross wind. It threw the bike and them all over the place. They narrowly missed a trailer. There was no where to pull over. Very scary!

Business ventures

In 1990 Sandra Jane ran her own balloon decorating business called Creative Balloons. She closed the business in 1995 as she was ready to try something else. In late February of 1996 she started working for Towne Ticket Centre, a local company later sold to Ticket Master. She was with the company until the end of July 2012 when the outlet in Kelowna was closed.

Today she is running her own little cleaning company called Cleaning with Class. She has also just finished writing and publishing her first novel called They Came to Dinner.
