Yay! Spring is here! What a winter Ken and I had living in
our RV. It was so cold that our water froze and we had to haul it over from the
house. That lasted for seven weeks. Lisa and Jay wanted us to come and live in
the house with them but, no, we were warm and comfortable in our RV. Anyway, we
have water again which has made it easier for us. We will be able to start
building our new home soon and the goal is to be in it by Labour Day. Fingers
crossed!
I’m very excited to say that my new book, After Dinner is
now for sale on Amazon or from me. It took a little longer then I thought it
would, but the good news is, it’s good to go. I hope everyone will enjoy it.
Even though we are only a few days into spring, the work has
already begun on our acreage. The kids have been out trimming trees and taking
down rotten fences and getting ready to plant a garden. Lisa, never having done
such a thing before, is very excited and anxious to get it going. We used to
have a big garden years ago and it’s a lot of work. I have warned her about
this but she is clearly up for the challenge.
Jay’s children and my grandsons have had a blast around our
place this winter. We have a couple of golf carts and Jay towed them around the
horse corral using the golf cart and a speed racer. Geez, I had fun watching
them. I was tempted to try it myself except all my snow pants and boots are in
storage.
That’s is the other thing that is a problem, my golf clubs
are in storage as well. They are buried so deep in there that I won’t be able to
get to them until we move into our new home. Maybe I can borrow Lisa’s.
Our friends are starting to talk about the camping season
and I’m not sure how excited I am about that. I already feel like I’m camping
and since I live in such a beautiful place, I’m not sure I want to leave it.
However, the one thing I enjoy is the camp fire so I guess for that reason
alone, will get me motivated not to mention the opportunity to camp and visit
with our friends.
